Abstract acrylic and mixed-media art by Kirk Billiter—layered with Scripture, surrender, and the hope of Jesus Christ.
Selected works
Each work begins with a visual idea, but it does not end there. A title, Scripture, and reflection invite the viewer to look beyond the canvas and toward Christ.

Why Vertical Victory
“The painting captures the eye. The writing reveals the heart. The Scripture points to Christ.”
Vertical Victory began during one of the darkest seasons of my life. In 2003, as my marriage ended and the future felt uncertain, I sensed a simple invitation from God: strike the flag. Surrender. Look up.
Painting became a way to process what God was teaching me. I was self-taught, and I began with no ambition to build a collection—only a desire to make visible reminders of His presence. Over time, the artwork, Scripture, and written reflections became inseparable.

The artist
Kirk is a self-taught abstract artist from Central Illinois. His acrylic and mixed-media work uses layered texture, symbolic forms, and the recurring image of the cross to explore surrender, restoration, faith, and light.
Painting is worship for Kirk—a place where structure gives way to trust and the finished work becomes an invitation to encounter God.

The book
Strike the Flag is Kirk’s faith-filled journey through divorce, restoration, leadership, ministry, art, and God’s faithfulness. It offers a practical framework for living and leading from a place of surrender.
